The study course "Psychology - EN" is designed for the students of the following study programmes - "Languages and intercultural Communication" (Faculty of Translation Studies), "Business Administration" (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration), Translation Studies, and all those students who wish to broaden their intellectual horizons into the matters of human behaviour, mind, and psyche. The course will provide students with basic concepts in psychology. The language of instruction is English, and in that way students are able to benefit from acquiring the terminology of psychology in a foreign language. The basic mode of instruction is lecturing, group work, discussions, presentations of individual assignments. Students will be expected to gain deeper analytical insights into human behaviour and social interactions both in an individual's daily routines and professional contexts. The end result of the course is not limited only to acquiring dry facts and definitions, but at developing deeper empathy, necessary life and work-life skills needed so much in the academic, everyday, and professional settings.
At the end of the course students will take a written exam, provided they have actively participated in classes during the term, and done their homework.
Attendance will help you better prepare for the exam (in a test format with specific questions covered during the term), and students are advised to inform the course presenter if they have force majeure while absent.
