Study course objective

The course is designed to improve and build upon the basic level of knowledge acquired during the previous Basic Spanish Language courses (I and II). It proposes a revision of the elemental grammar already studied, as well as exercises focusing on the development of useful vocabulary. Special attention is paid to the understanding and translation of texts of a general character (brochures, news reports, dialogues, etc.).

 

Study results

Acquiring notions of Spanish grammar corresponding to the level A2.2 (usage of past tenses, reflexive verbs, direct and indirect object pronouns, etc.

Developing the necessary skills to read and write texts related to general communication: narrating experiences, speaking of past actions, arranging plans, describing situations and abstract emotions, etc.

Developing speaking skills for interpersonal communication in settings such as a job interview or informal interactions with native speakers.

Improving listening and reading comprehension of Spanish texts of the A2.2 / B1 level.

 

Evaluation of study results:

Attendance and active participation: 20% (Attendance is mandatory: more than 4 unexcused absences will seriously compromise the final grade).

In-class/homework assignments: 60%

Final test: 20%

NOTE: The use of laptops is not allowed during lessons, and the use of electronic devices is strongly discouraged. 

 

Organization mode of students’ individual work

The independent work of students include: 

●       a regular learning of the course by using lecture materials, study literature, internet resources, 

●       homework assignment completion,  

●       preparations for the tests and exams.
